The DeGood Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in mid-2017 with a passion and desire to help children Dream More, Learn More, Care More, and Be More through programs for change in youth health, education, and literacy.
The DeGood Foundation is also the proud sponsor of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in Hampton Roads. The Imagination Library is a youth literacy program where children enrolled with the program will receive a free book in the mail every month from birth to age five to inspire a love of books, reading, and learning within the children of our community.
The DeGood Foundation also sponsors Bags of Hope, a powerful program that brings warmth, love, and fun to children with an extended stay in the hospital. We’ve partnered with The Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD) in Norfolk to make this program a reality. Beginning March 2019, all children who are admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) will receive a Bag of Hope from The DeGood Foundation to make their stay more fun and less scary.
